Bouverie Creek

The source of Bouverie Creek is held in pipes under the University of Melbourne Plaza. Deemed to be unnecessary and uncontrollable by the engineers, it was quietly put aside. Similarly, much of the work of academia is quietly put aside. Remaindered books from the University library are testament to the fleeting relevance of the research of any individual. In this work the remaindered texts provide a materiality for the reestablishment of Bouverie Creek above ground. This paper creek moves gently as it hangs from threads of human hair, activated by the mechanical ventilation system.
